Endorsement Process

The Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Democratic Club makes endorsements on local, state, and federal candidates and measures in San Francisco.

As the nation’s oldest chartered LGBTQ Democratic Club, Alice is proud to endorse Democratic office-seekers and requires that all candidates seeking endorsement are registered Democrats.

Alice will hold endorsement interviews for the June 2, 2026 Primary Election on Sunday, March 8 in San Francisco. We require candidates to submit an endorsement questionnaire and to reserve a time to speak in order to participate.

What to Expect During Endorsement Interview

Candidates who have joined Alice’s endorsement process will be assigned a four minute timeslot to address the Alice Board on Sunday, March 8. This timeslot is inclusive of both your introduction and Q&A. Please be prepared to address the Board quickly and concisely. Plan for a simple speech to the room. Time does not allow for A/V presentation materials.

The timeslot is precise. If you do not arrive on time, we cannot guarantee an opportunity to speak in fairness to others who have been scheduled if your slot is missed.

Unable to Join in Person on March 8?

Candidates are strongly recommended to appear in person to speak with the Board. Those who are unable to join in person may send a proxy to address the Board on their behalf in person.

Please contact pac@alicebtoklas.org with questions.
