The Fight to Resist Autocracy and the Assault on the LGBTQ+ Community
The United States government has launched an autocratic assault on people of color, immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community–DEI programs terminated, trans and non-binary people erased from LGBTQ+ monuments, surveillance against LGBTQ+ people legalized, trans people banned from the military, immigrants and asylum seekers rounded up and deported.
What are our LGBTQ+ community organizations doing to fight back? And what can we do politically, and in our own lives, to support their work and resist the assault and defend the LGBTQ+ community?
Join Alice at The Academy SF in conversation with leaders from the National Center for Lesbian Rights, the Transgender Law Center, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. We will update the community on the critical work these organizations are doing to protect LGBTQ+ people and discuss how we can uplift their work and resist the assault through our own efforts.
The program will consist of a panel discussion and an audience question and answer session. Stick around after the panel for a social hour to connect with panelists and fellow Alice members as we strategize ways to uplift community by standing strong and fighting back. 🍻
